The Academy provides Risk Management Operations Manuals for direct usage in industry, small business and local government, the manuals are user friendly designed and are fully supported for one year from date of installation/implementation of your system. The purpose of an OHS system is to provide direction and guidance for the effective continual implementation of the OHS Management System for the business. The OHS Management System does not limit or detract from the responsibilities contained within current legislation pertaining to workplace health and safety.

Management, that is those personnel who plan and direct work, are responsible for providing a place of work that is safe and without risk to health. This OHS Management System applies OHS to the day-to-day Management of the business and applies to all staff, visitors, customers and contractors.

The objectives of this OHS Management System are to:

  • Describe the controls and procedures which are in place at the business, to reduce or eliminate accidents during operations and to manage safety incidents.
  • Plan, implement and continually improve the OHS Management System meeting the requirements of AS 4801
  • Consistently meet legislative requirements regarding OHS Management, performance and reporting.
  • Provide, control and archive all documents relevant to the OHS Management System as evidence of conformity with the requirements of effective management of the system.
  • Communicate the policies, objectives and targets of the OHS Program with the business.

This System sets out the OHS Program laid down for the implementation and control of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System. The OHS Management System outlines the elements required as essential criteria that are consistent with best practice. The system has been formulated with reference to other management systems. i.e. AS 4801. Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.

  • This OHS Management System has been developed and follows a basic framework i.e.: -
  • Commitment and Policy
  • OHS Planning
  • Implementation
  • Measurement /Evaluation
  • Core Risk Programs

Words in this OHS management system documentation that are normally gender specific are to be regarded as gender neutral, and words that are normally plural may be regarded as singular having regard for the context.

The OHS Management System is not designed to be "stand alone" as it requires the development of a number of workplace specific manuals. Importantly, it is designed to assist the business to improve current programs and establish new ones.
