State Requirements - Responsible Service of Alcohol
New South Wales
People working in New South Wales need to complete a face to face Responsible Service of Alcohol RSA class, approved by the Casino, Liquor & Gaming Control Authority.
Australian Capital Territory (ACT)
Nationally Accredited Responsible Service of Alcohol RSA Online is fine for Australian Capital Territory and they state "licensees are encouraged/must ensure that staff undergoes appropriate training". This is an excellent way to show due diligence in training of staff.
Northern Territory
Nationally Accredited Responsible Service of Alcohol training is acceptable in Northern Territory
Queensland
OLGR are undergoing a review of their approved face to face training RTO's and it is not clear as to where they stand at the moment. As such we don't recommend doing online training until we get confirmation from them.
South Australia
Nationally Accredited Responsible Service of Alcohol online Training is acceptable in South Australia.
You need to apply to the SA Liquor Licensing Commission to be a responsible person, part of this process will be to supply evidence of the national RSA certificate.
Tasmania
The Tasmanian Commissioner for Licensing has advised he will not accept qualifications received online.
Victoria
The Nationally Accredited Certificate provided with the Online Responsible Service of Alcohol course is fine for most people, especially if you are looking for a job in hospitality. Students in Victoria needing a Victorian Liquor Licensing Certificate ( intending licensees and people working with packaged liquor) will be required to attend a face to face class.
The Victorian Liquor Licensing certificate can not be issued for Online Training.
West Australia
Nationally Accredited Responsible Service of Alcohol Online Training is fine in West Australia
